What’s New
We’ve tightened how Sure Send protects your account. Nothing changes for you
unless you set a new password, change your email, or mistype your password
many times in a row.
What you’ll notice
- New passwords need at least 12 characters. This applies when you sign
up, reset your password or choose a new one. Your current password keeps
working, even if it’s shorter. - Too many wrong passwords lock the account for an hour. After 10 failed
sign-ins we lock password sign-in and email you a link to unlock it right
away (at most once a day, so nobody can flood your inbox). “Forgot
password?” and “Unlock your account” on the sign-in page work too. Google
and Apple sign-in, and any device you’re already signed in on, keep working.
Our support team can also unlock your account or send you a reset link. - Changing your sign-in email asks for your current password. We then email
your old address so you know the change happened. - We email you whenever your password changes, including after a reset.
- A password reset now takes you to the sign-in page instead of signing you
in straight away. Sign in with your new password (and your two-factor code,
if you use one).
Repeated sign-in, password reset and two-factor attempts are also slowed down,
so if you see “Too many attempts”, wait a few minutes and try again.
